In this update we will tell you about the people and thoughts behind this project.

Ice cubes in winter?
We get it... the timing is a bit weird. But by making the campaign now, we can send them to you in time for summer! If we made the campaign in spring or summer, you wouldn't have it when you need it the most.

From idea to reality
ICEBREAKER started in 2014 when Kim Jensen quit his job to realise his idea of a smarter ice cube tray. He wanted to make a solution that made ice cubes easy, so everyone could enjoy ice cubes as a daily luxury. There was a big gap between standard ice cube trays and ice cube machines, and now ICEBREAKER has 11 patent-protected inventions in this gap. The second of these (POP) is now launched on Kickstarter!

ICEBREAKER Team
We are a team of 7 ice cube lovers. Our office is located in Denmark, but our team is pretty international - we have members from China, England and USA.

Our production partner is in China, but the products are developed, designed and sold by the team in Denmark.

Production partner

We have a production partner in China, who we also worked with when the first ICEBREAKER was made. In September 2019 we visited them to help set up production, and make sure that the product worked exactly like we designed it to.

Now that the campaign is over...

...we will work hard to produce and send all your ICEBREAKER POPs as quickly as possible! 

We still need to know which colours you want. You will select this in the BackerKit checkout, which we will send you a link to soon.

Fulfilment, production and drink recipes

We are almost done setting up the fulfilment platform, BackerKit. We will use this to collect your shipping addresses, your color selection and offer add-ons to our backers.

Our production has already begun, and we expect to have all your ICEBREAKER POPs ready for shipment in March as promised. So get ready for ice cold drinks all summer long!

The campaign will soon come to an end and we are very thankful for your support!

As I write this, we are 337 % funded, and our 1.141 backers can look forward to a completely new way of making clean and easy ice cubes next summer!

We are sure that you will love the POP - whether you need ice cubes for your late-night drink or for your beach trip!

After the campaign we will produce the ordered ICEBREAKER POP and send them to you in March 2020.

Testing of ICEBREAKER POP

Hi everybody!

This update is also inspired by a question we received in the comments. Please feel free to ask if you have a question as well!

Before launching here on Kickstarter, we have tested the POP to make sure it is absolutely premium quality. In this post we will explain some of the tests we have made.

Durability

To test the durability of ICEBREAKER POP, our mechanical engineer made a machine that could pull and compress the POP. 

- First he opened and closed a POP 1.100 times at 20 degrees (celcius)

- Then he opened and closed it 1.100 times at -20 degrees (celcius)

After the test, we made ice with it, to ensure that it still produced ice without any complications. There was NO issues with it, so therefore we guarantee 3 years.

Beta testing

To test and make sure that POP is easy to use, we made a beta-test with 10 independent consumers in different ages and genders. In the test we collected their:

1. First impressions

2. Experience when using it for the first time

3. Overall experience after 1 week use
